New Endeavors

I have been playing with the idea of doing something more than dolls and quilts lately. I finally came up with my newest projects, handbags. I am loving the challenge they offer along with the beautiful graphic fabrics that make them so eye-catching. I've decided to use leather along with the wonderful cottons.

My lovely mom steered me to the greatest place to get skins, S.H. Frank Leather in the Mission District. Emma and Mary, my housemate and fellow Etsian (http://www.alloneword.etsy.com/) went with me on my first trip out and we stood at the wall of colorful skins for a long time before even touching anything.

Here is a picture of my first batch. My wonderfully talented boyfriend helped me with the photography.

RENEGADE Craft Fair

I just got back from being with my fellow SF Etsy Crafters at the RENEGADE Craft Fair at Fort Mason. I linked some of their shops below. It was very exciting to be able to meet people and show my stuff. The booths were fab and varied with eye candy everywhere and I was able to put my name in a raffle for a Janome sewing machine! That is the brand I am using currently but I am borrowing if from my oh so kind Mom :).

I finished one of my most favorite quilts so far. The pictures do not do it justice because the quilting give is so much texture. I also have another "crazy" quilt I designed and made this week. I will post it in a couple of days when I get better photos.
