My new Nephew Cooper and his quilt!

I just got back from a great trip of invading my brother, his wife and their new 7 day old baby, Cooper. I say invading because it was me, the 3 kids, my mom and day and Carl. That's 7 people all at once

The most exciting part is that I was able to finish the quilt I have been wanting to make for them. This quilt is inspired by a wonderful quilt in the Gee's Bend Collection. Two years ago the kids and I had the pleasure to see the collection at the de Young. I have been so inspired by them but have not taken the leap to use them as true inspiration in my designs. Cooper coming was my excuse. This is the first design in many I hope to have in my shop.

The lovely inspiration quilt is made by Loretta Pettway. She made it in 1960 out of cotton twill and men's clothing.
My design includes the wonderful prints from Amy Butler.

Please keep an eye for some to pop into my shop soon.

Oh My, what a beautiful quilt. You really make textiles sing. Again I am amazed by your ability to make everyday items works of art. You are an inspiration to me.

Hi Ruth,
I'm so glad you and the fam came for a visit! We love the fabulous quilt and have put it to good use already warming my legs late at night whilst rocking little Cooper back to sleep. Thanks!
