My Space

I have been so busy lately that I have neglected to blog. One of the tasks I gave myself after my semester ended in school was to organize my sewing space. Some may not know that I have been living in my moms basement for the past 2 years. It is actually a lovely space though a bit tight for me and the 3 kids.
The kids have a room where they share a double/twin Ikea bed http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80108983. They also have an area for their desks, computers (2), TV and toys.
My room is a large studio style space minus the kitchen. The two outer walls had exposed foundation walls and so Mom and I went about customizing Ikea cabinets to hid the foundation and provide a wonderful amount of storage for me. I was able to separate the "cuddle" couch from my bed to create some sense of privacy. It works well. The silver leafed frame is one of my most favorite vintage pieces. The detail on it is extraordinary. I silver leafed over the painted gold and it changed the whole feel.

The opposite side of the room is where my office and sewing area is. This is where you can see all the amazing organization I was able to do. I purchased magazine boards, http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products/Magazine-Bags/Magazine-Bags.htm, to use as fabric bolt inserts. It is the perfect size for any bookcase and I am so excited about the availability of all my wonderful fabrics. Before I had them stuffed in various boxes. I was even able to wind all my trims on the boards. No more tangles and deep boxes of who knows what.

I am also including a sweet picture of my lovely bathroom. I really do love this bathroom. I certainly hope this inspires somebody! Cheers.

I enjoy your blog and your etsy shop. Thanks for your wonderful creativity and words! It's inspiring to see another sewer who gets organized (I'm far from it!)

I've added your blog site to my blog, hope you don't mind. I so enjoy reading your delightful entries. My blog, www.abercot.blogspot.com, is still in its infancy but it's developing. My etsy site is www.abercot.etsy.com and I love having an outlet for my stuff.

Many smiles!
